Artist Note:

Like so many children, I always loved to draw, which unfortunately for my parents included enormous crayon murals. From crayon I moved on to pastels and then later dabbled a bit in oil paints. It wasn’t until I started illustrating for my picture books, however, that I turned to watercolors. Now it’s my favorite medium!

My Technique: I start sketching in pencil until I get my character just right. Then I transfer my final sketch onto a clean sheet and then bring everything to life with color—watercolor!
